Maintain rigorous stewardship of the county’s complex budget, including the general fund, Medicaid and CCO-funded services, state pass-through restricted funds, O&C timber revenues, and other revenue sources and expenditures. Ensure stable and responsive county services are delivered while upholding sound fiscal practices that honor taxpayer dollars within a balanced budget.
Strengthen Public Safety and Community Trust
Support all Polk County justice partners while investing in prevention and evidence-based programs to keep people safe and reduce repeat offenses. Support public safety levy renewal. Support integrated Emergency Management.
Invest in Local Instrastructure
Repair and preserve county bridges and roads, improve transportation safety, explore bike network development, and advance regional water planning.
Support Access to Mental Health Services and Affordable Housing
Provide mental health and substance use disorder services, crisis services, lead coordinated homelessness prevention efforts, and increase affordable housing options.
Protect and Enhance Polk County's Quality of Life
Expand outdoor recreation—adaptive mountain biking and hiking trail planning at Gooseneck/Mill Creek and safe access to the Valley of the Giants—while protecting clean air, water, and open spaces. Encourage civic engagement.
Support a Strong and Inclusive Local Economy
Expand broadband access to every household, support small businesses and working families, and strengthen foundations for long-term growth.
